The debate about who calls the tune on customer payment terms rumbles on. Despite the fragile economy, it seems that extending contracted payment terms has become an acceptable means to retain customer loyalty.

They told you. They warned you many times. But as usual you knew better than them.
How many times this year have you decided to not review your debtors ledger? You know only too well that a single postponement this may lead to a recurring habit of not managing your debtors. Permitting aged debt to grow and grow without reviewing the customers’accounts is bad business management. It shouldn’t be a surprise then to learn that your cashflow haemorrages. Badly. And still you do nothing to reduce your debt for fear you might have to accept a hometruth that you customers are getting your service and goods for free.
So why be in business?

The news reports are beginning to fill with predictions of a 2nd Dip Recession. Not good. Not good at all. However, the jury is still out and that leaves the door ajar to permit a chink of sunlight in on an otherwise gloomy forecast.
